Tom graduated from the Guitar Institute of Technology with honors and received the Gibson Guitar Award for Outstanding Achievement and the Howard Roberts Fusion Guitar.  He has studied with notable guitarists including:
Jazz with Joe Pass, Herb Ellis, and Bob Bain from the Tonight Show
Jazz fusion with Pat Metheny, Pat Martino, Joe Diorio
Studio guitarists: Lee Ritenouer, Tommy Tedesco, Jay Graydon, Phil Upchurch
Classical guitar with Michael Lorimer, Jimmy Wyble
Tom has played for Jim Bailey, Shirley Bassie, and toured with John Gary.  He and his wife, Karen, continue to perform in the Chicago area.  He has played for Chicago area musical theater, and done studio work at major studios in LA and Chicago.  Tom’s computer and technological experience is vast and he continues to work with the latest, greatest, sound equipment, and keyboard and guitar synthesizers.
Tom has been teaching guitar for 16 years.  His students, such as Muriel Anderson, have gone on to play and tour professionally.
