Acting For The Camera Class
Beginning Ages 9 – 12 and Intermediate Ages 13 – 16
This Screen Acting Camp is designed for students with an interest in the film and commercial market, which is quite different from the stage. Working both on and off the camera, we will learn the skills of ‘on-camera technique’. Actors will learn about the TV/Film Industry, how to read copy, find your camera angles, hit your mark, how to slate, audition and the next step in auditioning for this line of work!

Improv Drill
Improv 1 Ages 9 – 12 and Improv 2 Ages 13 – 16
In this fast paced class students will dive into ‘playing in the moment’ – with Improv Drill! The styles learned in this impulse generated class are at the core of basic acting, building your confidence, awareness and your funny bone! Improv, as a growing process, will always make this camp appropriate for repeat students.

Breaking Into the Business, with Carol Dibo
For Teen (or pre-teen) Actors and Their Parents
This Introductory seminar is ideal for parents and their teen actors. It is designed to take the mystery out of how to get a legitimate agent, what a casting director looks for, when to join the union, where to get great headshots, how to decide between college programs and the way to avoid costly scams. Learn from top notch Chicago Industry Professional, Carole Dibo, how to nagivate Chicago's film, television and theater markets. This afternoon is packed with information that could take you years to gather.

"The Giving Tree" - Theatrical Sign Language Workshop Theatre For The Deaf
Ages 8-14
Come and experience this exciting new form of theatre bridging the gap between the deaf and hearing communities. Combine sign language,acting singing and movement into a theatrical presentation using Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree book as our script.
Professional sign language intrepreter and actress Patti Shore Kaden will conduct this innovative workshop. Special guest appearance from a member of the Chicago Deaf Theatre community.
You will be working alongside deaf, hard of hearing and hearing students to create a colloborative and truly moving piece of theatre that evrybody can enjoy. No prior ALS experience necessary.

Audition Workshop
For Ages 8 – 18
Be Prepared for your next audition…Our Audition Workshop will help you do just that! This workshop is an opportunity to learn from the Professionals at The School of Performing Arts, and sing your song with a live accompanist before your next audition. Learn the importance of how to act and find the story within your song, what to wear and what not to wear and how to conduct yourself at your audition and so much more. Don’t have a song selection?...we can help you find the right choice. An excellent way to work out your ‘nerves’ before your next big audition… you never know – the next ANNIE could be you!
