Triple Threat _________________________________________
For Students entering grade 7 – age 16
This Intensive Acting & Musical Theatre Camp offers a unique opportunity for a select group of young actors aged grades 7 – age 16 to study the performance aspects of Acting and Musical Theatre with prominent industry professionals in Chicago. This one week in residence (Naperville’s North Central College) camp allows students to spend an intensive week at The School of Performing Arts working with guest artists from The Chicago Academy for the Arts, including Ms. Patricia Rusk, Chair of Musical Theatre and Ms. Aimee McKay, from Chicago’s own Second City, along with talented trained professionals from The School of Performing Arts and Chicago’s finest Dance Companies.
Each day students will immerse in six hours of Triple Threat Training with classes in Musical Theatre Voice Styles, Acting Techniques, Improvisation, and Musical Theatre Dance with our professional staff. Evenings will be spent together in an educational forum atmosphere with different professionals in the business from Agents to Casting Directors to Professional Artists in the area, as well as soaking up some more musical theatre history, seeing a local show and bonding with fellow campers. This year Triple Threat will focus on the works of Charles Strouse – Bye, Bye Birdie, Annie, Rags, and more excellent material for this age group and boasts an opportunity to train at The Chicago Academy for the Arts; our week will culminate with a cabaret style performance at the CAA on Saturday, July 31 for friends and family …don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity!

A grown-up story about growing up! With an unforgettable rock score from Tony Award winning composer Jason Robert Brown, "13" is a hilarious, high-energy musical for teens about discovering that cool is where you find it, and sometimes where you least expect it.
Acting, Singing, Dancing, Costume, Make-up, Publicity, Technical Design- our student company will learn it all from working professionals. In the footlights of professional technical elements and under the propelling direction of Ray Frewen and Robin Kersey-Dickerson, actors will shine in performance while developing confidence, self-expression, leadership and team skills that will last a lifetime

This series is designed as a performance outlet to allow students the opportunity to experience musical theatre at a comfortable pace. Students who have a love for music, theatre, dance, and performance will have a blast attending rehearsals, learning about musical theatre, and perfecting their talents! A final performance will be presented at the end of the session on Friday, August 6.
We’re all in this together…. Again! High School Musical 2 follows Troy, Gabriella and the rest of the Wildcats out of their hallowed East High safety net and into the Country Club. Many characters thrive, others jive, a few dive and even one gets eaten alive – not literally, but it sure is exciting! In the end, the Wildcats work together, learn something about themselves and help each other grow up. Get ready to sing and dance your hearts out and share the joy of this rockin’ sequel with your new friends. Ready? Set? All…for… ONE!

Broadway Babies Camps

Ages 3 - 5
Your little star will shine in this camp, while learning show-stopping moves and singing their hearts out to Broadway favorites from Grease, The Lion King, The Wizard of Oz and more! Focusing on Friendship, Laughter and Ensemble while Singing, Dancing and Acting, there will be a ‘mini performance’ at the end of each camp – just enough to get it all on camera! This is a ‘mini version’ of our Broadway Studio Series.

Backyard Broadway
A Broadway Kids Club is sure to be a big hit this summer! All the neighbors come to Sandy’s backyard for show-stopping Broadway Fun! They will Hand Jive their way down to the Soda Shop, singing and dancing to ‘fave’s from the 50’s’ all the way!

On the Steps of the Palace
We’re off to see the Wizard in this fun-filled theme! The Wizard has decreed that a Royal Ball is on the docket and every Princess and Knight is invited! We’ll be singing and swinging to the Royal Tunes at the Broadway Ball!

Boogie your way down Broadway in this camp, which focuses on the skills and artistry of singing, dancing and acting…Musical Theatre! A Studio performance will take place at the end of each theme – don’t forget your cameras to capture these show-stopping moves and stories come to life!

Take a break from the beach, grab your Poodle Skirts and Leather Jackets and get ready to twist the days away At the Hop! The big school dance is only a few days away and our very own Rydell Ringtails are making it happen! These summer days are sure to show that Broadway’s Rock and Roll is here to stay! Be sure to catch our performance, as We Go Together at the end of the week!

Saddle up and sing a long where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain… in the Rockin’ Wild West! The Cowgirl Chorale and the Cowpoke Kids will take center stage, dancin’ their way into the rodeo ring! Wearin’ your very own western badge and country ‘get-up’, learn how to hoe down and do si do… Broadway Style! Y’all be sure to join us at the end of the week for the Rockin’ Western Show at the end of the week!

Come On Along and Listen to The Lullaby of Broadway through the years! An attic trunk full of Broadway Memories ‘old and new’ awaits you –a script written just for our performers with tunes from Gershwin to Guys and Dolls! Journey through the decades of The Big White Way as you sing, dance and act the stories of the stage… just like the real stars of Broadway! Join us at the end of the week for our Once Upon A Broadway Memory Show!
Camp Summer Stock- That 70's Glee Club

Have a Broadway Blast spending three weeks in rehearsal structured classes- acting, singing, dancing and putting together a big show!
Prepare for our very own world premiere musical production, The Glee Cruise! We will sing and dance our way through popular numbers from Broadway shows like Grease, Guys and Dolls, Hairspray, Footloose, Jersey Boys and more! An Outdoor Performance at the Carillon Ampitheatre makes this exciting opportunity a true camp experience! Classes are broken down by age; past campers welcome!

Show Choir Minis Camp

A Mini Glee Club for your little performer -- This New and Exciting Show Choir Mini Camp will share the best of the Drills and Skills of Show Choir! A unique performance opportunity using show-stopping songs and dances – all worked together into a ‘Smash-up Performance’ at the end of the week! Focusing on team-building, friendship and fun, while singing, dancing and acting, this camp is sure to be a hit!

Cabaret Camp for Vocalists!

Featuring Jazz Standards and Broadway Favorites to Contemporary Classics… vocalists will learn how to put together the total package – how to use a microphone, acting through a song, performance and audition etiquette, simple staging with choreography and how to work with a live accompanist! Our Musical Revue will be comprised of solos, duets and group numbers catered toward each member of our cast in preparation for an Afternoon of Cabaret!
This camp is limited to 16 students. Final Performance Friday, August 13 at 3:00pm.

A Musical Theatre Audition Master Class with Ray Frewen, of Roosevelt University’s Musical Theatre Conservatory and also a Professional Chicagoland award-winning Actor/Director. While working scenes, songs and monologues from musicals of yesterday and today, learn to connect your body to your voice– an actor’s greatest tool! Become skilled in making educated choices and taking risks. You will gain expertise in stage presence and how to conduct yourself as a young professional in the field of Musical Theatre- a step up from the rest!

Does your inner ‘leading lady or chorus girl’ need a chance to shine? Do you love the idea of performing, but it’s been years since you’ve graced the stage? Perhaps you’re a seasoned veteran, who just loves to sing and dance or you've never been in the spotlight at all -- you just want to perform...
Join us for some Summer Fun and dip into the Best of Broadway, Standards and Faves from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s! Our Directing Team will make you look and feel like a million bucks on stage! An Evening of Song and Dance is an opportunity to brush off your vocal chords and maybe even your tap shoes, sing some sassy tunes and try a few new moves – A One Night Only Performance benefitting The Global Orphan Project in Haiti.
First Rehearsal/Company Meeting: Friday, June 4 – 7:00pm.
One Night Only Performance (with a possible performance extension!) – Wednesday, July 28

There is no tuition for this workshop. All proceeds will go toward Silent Samaritans and The Global Orphan Project in Haiti.
