For students entering grade 7- age 16
Build the skills you'll need on stage at this acting and musical theatre camp for actors, singers, and dancers. This one week in-residence camp lets students study with guest artists from The Chicago Academy for the Arts, including Patricia Rusk, Chair of Musical Theatre and Matthew Kerns, Chair of Theatre, along with talented professionals from Second City and Chicago's finest dance companies.
Each day students will work with acting, vocal and improvisation techniques, along with musical theatre dance styles, to put together a final cabaret performance! Evenings will be spent having fun with fellow campers and learning about the business from agents, casting directors and professional artists in the area.
This year Triple Threat will focus on the works of Stephen Schwartz, the award winning composer of Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden among many others and boasts an opportunity to train at The Chicago Academy for the Arts; our week will culminate with a cabaret style performance at the CAA on Saturday, August 2 for friends and family…don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity!
Students will be housed on the campus of North Central College and daily classes will be held at The School of Performing Arts, Naperville. Final performance will be held at The Chicago Academy for the Arts in Chicago. www.chicagoacademyforthearts.org

Lights up at Theatre Building Chicago, as The School of Performing Arts heads to the city with Little Shop of Horrors!
An intensive three--week musical theatre experience that lets teens 13-18 immerse themselves in acting, singing, dancing, costuming, make-up, publicity, and technical design.
Under the direction of Ray Frewen, an accomplished actor, award winning director, and faculty member of The Theatre Conservatory, Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University; as well as other working Chicago professionals such as Robin Kersey-Dickerson. You'll put it all together to perform the final production of Little Shop of Horrors at The Theatre Building, Chicago.
Students develop confidence, self-expression, leadership and team skills that will last a lifetime, while enjoying fellowship with other teens and talented professionals.

Learn from the pros… work closely with the design team of our Summer Main stage Musical Little Shop of Horrors to be performed July 11–13 at Theatre Building Chicago! Costumes, Sets, Properties and Stage Management will be the focus of this practicum workshop--perfect for those students interested in the backstage side of show time!

Cabaret Camp for Vocalists!

Ages 11 - 14
Featuring jazz standards and Broadway favorites to contemporary classics… vocalists will learn how to put together the total package – how to use a microphone, acting through a song, performance and audition etiquette, simple staging with choreography and how to work with a live accompanist. Our musical revue will be comprised of solos, duets and group numbers catered toward each member of our cast… all accompanied by live musicians in preparation for An Afternoon of Cabaret!
