The School of Performing Arts offers many dance classes and camps throughout the summer. For the student looking to take class once or twice or more we offer our regular summer classes at our Naperville and Plainfield Campus. Let us know how we can assist in finding the perfect fit.

Your dancer might be looking for a new experience for the summer. Here are a few exciting options to consider. Some are only offered during the summer!

Lyrical
Express yourself with inspirational movement through lyrics.
Level I: Student must attend a Jazz/Ballet level II
Level II: Stud net must attend a Jazz/Ballet level III or up
A Jazz or Ballet class is stongly reccomended before or after Lyrical class.

Choreography
Learn how to find your voice and create your own masterpiece! Students will learn techniques to self-choreograph a work to be shown in class at the end of the summer session. Appropriate for jazz, ballet, lyrical and modern styles.
Appropriate for students in Jazz/Ballet levels III and up.

Musical Theatre Dance
Learn choreography and combinations inspired by Broadway shows while focusing on performance technique. Past classes have done Fosse styles, and excerpts from "A Chorus Line".
Appropriate for students in Jazz levels I and II

Conditioning
Stretching, strengthening, Pilates-based, yoga-inspired, cardiovascular endurance will be covered. This class is a good compliment to a strong jazz and ballet background, or a way to work on increasing flexibility and core strength over the summer.
Appropriate for students levels III and up
Conditioning is reccomended or after an appropriate technique class.

Variations
Advanced pointe elective class for students on pointe. Learn repertoire and choreography of famous works from classical ballet. Past variations have been Swan Lake, La Bayadaire, and Paquita from Don Quixote.
Appropriate for students in Pointe B and up.
Must be taken preceding a ballet technique class.

Character

A great elective for younger ballet dancers! Similar to Variations this class will work on ballet repertoire and choreography. It's emphasis will be on performance rolls for children inspired by classical ballet, such as "Party Scene" from the Nutcracker Ballet.
Strongly recommended for Ballet II students.
