Mini Mozarts
An introduction to the piano through singing, rhythm and movement, listening and playing songs. Young students enjoy making music and participating in age appropriate group activities.

For continuing students only
This class offers beginning students the fundamentals of learning to read music and playing the piano. Group activities include music theory, ear training, improvisation and ensemble playing.

Middle School Class Voice
Grades 6 - 8
Students learn about vocal technique, musical expression, theory, sight singing and care of the voice. Students will be exposed to solo and ensemble performance experience in class and appropriate audition pieces.

Ages 7 - 10
Take a trip around the world!! Discover new and exciting places through music, art, and dance. Sing folk songs; create and decorate a traditional instrument; learn native rhythms and dances; make a traditional costume; and explore the food, customs, and culture of each country. Family and friends are invited to attend a special performance at the end of each week.

NEW! Rock & Blues Band Camp
Ages 12 - 18
Acoustic & electric guitar, percussion,
bass, keyboard, and voice
Using music from the Beatles to John Coltrane, this camp will show students what it’s like to play in a Rock Band! Learn how to improvise, how to put together your own band, how to read chord charts, and more. A final gig will be booked where students can let loose and jam out together! Students will be grouped according to age and playing level based on their audition.

Summer Music Ensemble Camp
Piano, strings, and voice grade 3 and up
Winds and brass grade 6 and up
Experience the fun of group music-making! Students will improve their ensemble, rhythmic, and listening skills through repertoire spanning from classical to jazz. Based on their audition and ensemble preference, students will be placed into piano ensemble, string ensemble, mixed chamber ensemble, wind ensemble, or vocal ensemble. Groups will meet for 2 hours each week for a rehearsal and a class. Class topics may include: composition, sight reading, improvisation, ear-training, theory, or music history. Students will get to show off their new skills in a final performance for family and friends.

"La Serenada"
Ages 14 - 18
A small, select mixed voice ensemble will learn and perform a repertoire of contemporary, classical and musical theatre ensemble pieces. Correct solo voice and ensemble techniques are emphasized with additional language and diction coaching. Rehearsals are two days with a concluding performance the last day of class.

NEW! Adult Music Appreciation
and Ravinia Workshop
Ages 18 and up
This workshop is for musicians and non-musicians alike and will be a fresh look at classical music. This casual workshop will allow you to explore music examples with cultural history to increase the listener's understanding of the evolution of music. Classes are held at the Fat Bean Coffeehouse (2959 Artesian Rd in Naperville). The class will culminate with a trip to Ravinia to enjoy and discuss a live performance under the stars. Concert at Ravinia will be determined at the start of class.
