The School of Performing Arts is pleased to announce the development of several workshops in Music, Dance, Musical Theatre, and Visual Arts geared toward children with special needs.

Through creative arts, children with disabilities are encouraged to maximize their potential in a supportive setting to celebrate music, movement, theatre and fine arts. The use of music, dance and imagery through art allows the child an alternative path for self-exploration and communication. It is a process where they can discover themselves through any art form, to let go, express and release.
Your child will experiene
- Increased ability to move and with more ease and freedom
- Development of a deeper trust and respect for their body
- Increased self awareness, self confidence and, self discipline as well as team building
- Development of listening and concentration skills along with social skills
- Promotion of a sense of pride and achievement

SILVER SCREEN SCENES & SONGS
September 10 - November 19
Ages 10 and up
Classic scenes from classic movies act as the focus of our theatre classes this Fall! Hitchcock suspense, Spielberg drama,Charlie Chaplin & Three Stooges comedy, Science Fiction, Adventure and of course....MGM musicals! No experience necessary-learn how to act like a STAR! The final project will be a screen test!
1 1/4 hours / week - Sondheim Room
$110 / 11 weeks
Saturdays 9:30 -10:45am with Miss Lynda (LC), Miss Blair (BB). and Miss Heather (HH)
ALL THAT JAZZ
September 10 - November 19
Ages 8 and up
Let's go to the movies with style! Learn dance moves made famous by stars such as Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, Michael Jackson, John Travolta and others..... You will work on parts of dance routines from movies such as "GREASE", "FOOTLOOSE", "LION KING", "SINGING IN THE RAIN" and choose one to perform at the last class presentation! No experience necessary. Come ready to dance your socks off!! Those dancers in wheelchairs are most welcome to participate!
45 minutes / week - Sondheim Room
$80 / 11 weeks
Saturdays 11:00-11:45am with Miss Blair (BB), Miss Lynda (LC), and Miss Heather (HH)
*Special Discount - $150 if you sign up for both classes!
