The School of Performing Arts is pleased to announce the development of several workshops in Music, Dance, Musical Theatre, and Visual Arts geared toward children with special needs.

Through creative arts, children with disabilities are encouraged to maximize their potential in a supportive setting to celebrate music, movement, theatre and fine arts. The use of music, dance and imagery through art allows the child an alternate path for self-exploration and communication. It is a process where they can discover themselves through any art form, to let go, to express, and release. Your child will experience ... * Increased ability to move and with more ease and freedom. * Development of a deeper trust and respect for their body. * Increased self awareness, self confidence, self- discipline as well as team building. * Development of listening and concentration skills along with social skills. * Promotion of a sense of pride and achievement.

... SPECTRUM SCENES & SONGS Saturdays, September 11-November 6 (no class 10/23) 9:30-11:00am Fee: $250 Something familiar, something peculiar, something for everyone... some ccomedy AND drama!!! Scenes and songs from famous plays and musicals will be the focus of this exciting class. As a group, we will explore comedic timing, dramatic pauses and musical phrasing to find the "heart" of the song. Shows such as The Odd Couple, Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Wicked and West Side Story will be part of our repertoire. A Cabaret performance will culminate the workshop on November 7.

WOW DANCE EXPLOSION! (With or Without Wheelchair Dance Class) Saturdays, September 11- November 6 11:15-12:00pm Fee: $150 Join us for an exciting new dance class designed for those confined to a wheelchair...OR NOT! Movement, free style mixed with ballet and jazz will keep you on your toes. Express yourself to classical and modern music while developing techniques of dancing and storytelling through movement.
