What is a vocal hearing?
Vocal hearings are really easy! They will be done in small groups where the children will be asked to sing "My Country 'Tis of Thee" and The National Anthem. The director will do some exercises to check musicianship skill level : rhythmic clap-back patterns, exercises to check for vocal range and the ability to hold a harmony part. The vocal hearing will take approximately 20 minutes and children and parents will have the opportunity to briefly talk to the director at the end of the hearing. All children that can match pitch and have unchanged voices will be accepted in the choir.
Cantare will be lead by the very talented and well sought after
conductor, Ms. Oksana Rodak.
The mission of the choir will be to educated and inspire children to attain a high level of musicianship while providing the opportunity for artistic and social empowerment. A wide variety of music will be performed celebrating the global community.
Rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30-6:00pm at our Plainfield Campus and will begin September 2, 2008.
Tuition: $300 18 week semester
Materials: $45
Tuition covers three hours of expert instruction in vocal training each week along with any performance opportunities throughout the semester. Your materials fee covers the purchasing of music, arrangements, folders and other general supplies needed.
