Jay Fagan
Performing at sold out crowds in Las Vegas for the past five years, Jay Fagan’s career already spans over the past two decades. Originally a teacher in the Chicago-land area, Mr. Fagan’s teaching skills lead him to become among the most sought after tap master today.
Technically, Fagan has been trained by the very best tap dancers in the business including Gregory Hines, Henry LaTang, Sam Weber and Savion Glover, to name a few. His polished performances have been seen by the President of the United States, at the Kupio Dance Festival in Finland, Canada’s Windsor Casino, Las Vegas’ Flamingo, Luxor & Suncoast Hotel Casinos, Trump Plaza in Atlantic City and a multitude of conventions, master workshops and studios around the world.
Beyond his mastery of tap, he has studied all mediums of dance including jazz, modern and ballet and is a highly sought after instructor and choreographer. He’s worked with DEA (Dance Educators of America), DMA (Dance Masters of America), CNADM (Chicago National Association of Dance Masters), the Kansas Tap Festival and the Chicago Human Rhythm Project to name a few. He’s choreographed pieces for Chicago’s foremost tap company, ETC (Especially Tap Company), a variety of revues in Atlantic City and Las Vegas and has received the Presidential Scholar Award and American Dance Award.
Jay has recently developed and choreographed a unique and new brother-sister novelty act called SIBLING RIVALRY. Connie, his baby sister, has all the same skills as her big brother Jay, nine years her senior. Fagan takes a back seat when presenting the duo on stage to allow for his sister to show off all that he has taught her. Look for this novelty act performanced at CHRP this summer (2005) along with opening for Don Rickles, Debbie Reynolds and the cruise line circuit.
