A & A BALLET

The School of Performing Arts is thrilled to welcome A&A Ballet, led by Anna Reznik and Alexei Kremnev, to our family. Anna and Alexei are internationally acclaimed artists and former Founding Artistic Directors of the Joffrey Academy and Joffrey Studio Company. A&A Ballet will provide guidance, directorship and instruction for The School of Performing Arts dance department. Alexei will share his vision of tradition and innovation as the Artistic Director of the department, and Anna will serve as the Director of the ballet department.

2017 International Summer Dance Intensive A&A Ballet’s international summer intensive seminar is a versatile dance training course for serious students with an emphasis on the development of each student’s potential. Classes are offered in Ballet, Pointe, Men’s, Partnering, Variations, Contemporary, Character, Body Conditioning, Repertoire and Choreography and will be taught by Anna Reznik and Alexei Kremnev and A & A Ballet faculty whose dedication to teaching the art of ballet is unmatched.

  • International Summer Intensive: 5 weeks: June 19, 2017-July 21, 2017
  • Back to School Directors’ Intensive: 2 weeks: August 7, 2017- August 18, 2017
  • Juniors’ Program: 2 weeks: June 19, 2017-June 30, 2017 Ages 9-11

Sample Daily Schedule

9:30-11:15 – Ballet
11:30-12:30 – Pointe, Variations, or Partnering
12:30-1:15 – Lunch
1:15-2:15 – Classical, Neo-classical repertoire, Contemporary
2:30-3:30 – Classical, Neo-classical repertoire, Contemporary, Character
3:45-4:30 – Choreography, Character, Improvisation, Body Conditioning 4:30-6:30 – Individual training, private solos (additional charges)

Tuition: International Summer Intensive: 5 weeks: $2,300
Back to School Directors’ Intensive: 2 weeks: $950
Juniors’ Program: 2 weeks: $950

A limited number of scholarships will be available.

Housing A & A Ballet provides supervised housing for all summer students at, a secure, state-of-the-art downtown student residence close to Chicago’s best shopping, finest restaurants, cultural attractions, museums, theatres, parks, and lake-front beaches. Located under a mile from A & A Ballet, the dorm is monitored by a 24hour security staff plus experienced chaperones who live on-site with the students. Room and Board includes shared quad semi-suites, 17 meals per week plus weekly linen service and cleaning.  Students will have access to a lounge area on each floor, as well as a fitness center, game/recreational area, laundry facilities, on-site retail, food and banking services. Specific details will be posted soon

Weekend/Evening Activities There will be a variety of activities scheduled for some evenings and each weekend to offer students the opportunity to explore all that Chicago has to offer in the summer.  For students staying in summer housing the activities are required and an activities fee will be added.

Navy Pier Lincoln Park & Zoo Chicago River Walk
A trip to Oak Street Beach Movies in the Park Boat and/or Bicycle Tour

Auditions for Cinderella! For Dancers 6 and up This new and exciting production will take a contemporary approach to a favorite childhood story.  There will be opportunity for all dancers and levels to take the stage.  Butterflies, gnomes, shoemakers, Cinderella and her Prince and so many more characters will bring this story to life on stage!

Congratulations to the cast of Cinderella!  Look for ticket information this spring! Performances: May 20th at Pfeiffer Hall in Naperville IL, and May 27th at the Studebaker Theatre in Chicago. Tuition: $350.00

_______________________________________________________________________________________The School of Performing Arts and A&A Ballet will offer ballet classes at our new location in Naperville, 1112 South Washington Street, as well as in Chicago at the American Rhythm Center, 410 South Michigan Avenue. For Chicago classes, parking is reduced at the Grant Park South Garage ($12 for seven hours). Parking ticket must be validated at front desk. Click here for parking info and directions. In Chicago, SPA and A&A Ballet will offer Pre-Ballet, Ballet I and II, Pre-Professional Programming, Youth Company, and a Conservatory Program. In Naperville, SPA and A&A Ballet will offer ballet classes for levels Basic-V and a Pre-Professional Program.
