Jake Muzzy
Suzuki/Traditional Cello Instructor

Jake Muzzy (Cello) began the study of cello at four years of age. He has won distinction in competitions such as the Masterworks Festival Concerto Competition, the National Federation of Music Clubs Student Auditions and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. He studied with Carol Ourada in Wheaton and Hans Jorgen Jensen at Northwestern University before taking his Masters from the Cleveland Institute of Music under the tutelage of Stephen Geber. He was Principal Cellist of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra for four years and is on the faculty of the Wheaton College Conservatory and teaches at the Masterworks Festival during the summer. He performs with his wife Hannah (harp) as the duo 51 Strings, which has concertized across the United States and in Argentina.
